Dyslexia Tutoring

I provide targeted, individualized, multisensory Orton-Gillingham literacy instruction to meet the needs of each dyslexic student.

I inspire my students to love learning by patiently and competently teaching them in an encouraging environment.

My lessons adhere to all of the Orton-Gillingham principles.

I have a proven record of increased scores on informal progress monitoring assessments with my students.

  • Tutoring sessions are one-on-one.
  • Minimum of two lessons per week.
  • Lessons are approximately 1 hour in length.
  • $60 per lesson.
  • Payment for the month due at the first lesson of the month and late after the 10th. There is a $25 late fee at that time.
  • I offer virtual lessons on a case-by-case basis.

* Orton-Gillingham is considered the gold standard for teaching reading to students with dyslexia and is usually highly effective. However, every student is different. Underlying weaknesses that contribute to learning struggles such as low auditory and visual processing speeds, low working memory, hyperactivity and Attention Deficit Disorder may cause slower progress in some students, or in rare cases, may impede progress altogether. Therefore, I make no guarantees of outcomes based on the implementation of any information contained in this website.

In order to show and document a student’s progress and to provide parents with written progress data, I use the Gallistel-Ellis Test of Coding Skills twice a year as a comprehensive measure to assess the progress of each student. If a report shows that your child has not progressed as expected, we will discuss the next appropriate course of action. Please note! This screening information is not a diagnosis and may not be used for a formal diagnosis in a school or other setting.
